Friday Night Flag: COVID-19 Operational Plan

Friday Night Flag has developed the following operational plan to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.  The following steps will be taken.

Establish protocols to maintain the six (6) foot physical distance.

We will be using fields at multiple locations in order to provide adequate spacing between spectators and sidelines.

·        Spectators will be limited to 1 to 2 per family.  Each family will social distance (6ft) along the sidelines. Masks will be required for all coaches and spectators.

·        Physical distancing will be encouraged amongst players while receiving coaching.

·        Instruction to youth and adult leaders to avoid physical contact with one another, e.g. hugs, high-fives, etc. will be made prior to each game by referees.

·        Game Fields will be spaced out with to limit contact with other spectators.   

·        Time between games will be increased from 20 minutes, to 35 minutes, allowing more time to come and go without gathering.

·        Spectators will be asked to leave immediately after games.

Establish protocols to reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19 among adult leaders, youth, and their families.

·        Monitor athletes and coaches/staff for signs and symptoms of COVID- require ill person to stay home for games and practices.

·        Wearing of masks by spectators will be required and reminder signs posted on fields.

·        Footballs and player’s hands will be sanitized at the beginning of each game and at half time.

·        Sharing of water bottles will be discouraged.

·        Mouth Guards will be discouraged and optional

·        Hand sanitizer will be at the Friday Night Flag trailer.   

Food Vendors and Concession Sales:

·        All Food Vendors and Concessions sales will encourage social distancing and wearing of masks.

·        Hand sanitizer will be offered and present

Identify strategies for working with public health to notify adult leaders, youth and their families if the organization learns a participant or adult leader has developed COVID-19 and may have been infectious to others while at a youth activity

·        In the event a player or staff member has COVID-19, scrimmages and practices will be postponed or canceled.  FNF will seek guidance from CDH on how to proceed and when practices and scrimmages can resume.

·        Confidentiality of the COVID-19 infected person will be kept
